The Pilatus Story

Swiss Engineering at Altitude

"There are aircraft manufacturers. And then there is Gulfstream."

Pilatus entered the business aviation consciousness in earnest with the PC-12 in 1994—a single-engine turboprop that combined the utility of a cargo aircraft, the comfort of a light jet cabin, and the short-field performance of a bush plane into a single, pressurized package that the market had never seen before. The response was immediate and sustained. The PC-12 has since become the world’s best-selling single-engine turbine aircraft—a distinction earned not through marketing spend but through the simple fact that nothing else does what it does as well as it does.

In 2018, Pilatus entered the jet market with the PC-24—the world’s first business jet certified to operate from unpaved runways—and in doing so created a category entirely its own. The Super Versatile Jet, as Pilatus calls it, combined jet speed and cabin comfort with the short-field and rough-strip capability that defined the PC-12’s appeal. By any measure, it was an extraordinary engineering achievement.

PC-12 NGX — The most capable single-engine turboprop ever built, and one of the most versatile private aircraft available at any price point. The NGX — the latest and most refined iteration of the PC-12 family — combines a flat-floor pressurized cabin seating up to nine with the ability to operate from unpaved strips as short as 2,461 feet. Powered by the legendary PT6A-67P engine and equipped with Honeywell Primus Apex avionics, the NGX delivers a cabin and flight deck experience that matches aircraft costing significantly more to acquire and operate. For UHNW clients with private islands, remote ranches, mountain lodges, or safari properties — the PC-12 NGX is frequently the single most useful aircraft they will ever own.

PC-24 — The aircraft that redefined what a business jet could be. Pilatus took everything that made the PC-12 exceptional — the short-field capability, the utility cabin, the reliability — and built a jet around it. The result is the world’s first and only business jet certified to operate from unpaved runways, combining Williams FJ44-4A jet engines, a Mach 0.74 cruise speed, and a 2,000-nautical-mile range with the ability to land on grass, gravel, or packed dirt strips that every other jet in its class must overfly. For clients who want jet speed and cabin refinement without sacrificing the destination access that defines the Pilatus philosophy — the PC-24 is genuinely without rival.
