Embraer
The Embraer Story
Brazilian Precision, Global Ambition
"There are aircraft manufacturers. And then there is Gulfstream."
Founded in 1969 in São José dos Campos, Brazil, Embraer—Empresa Brasileira de Aeronáutica—began as a government-backed aerospace manufacturer and grew into one of the world’s most respected aircraft companies. Today, Embraer is the third-largest commercial aircraft manufacturer in the world and the undisputed leader in the light and midsize business jet categories.
Embraer’s philosophy in business aviation has always been to deliver more than the market expects at every price point. The Phenom 100 redefined what a very light jet could feel like. The Phenom 300 has been the world’s best-selling light jet for over a decade. The Praetor 600 became the longest-range midsize jet in the world at launch. And the Lineage 1000E—a converted Embraer 190 regional airliner—offers a flying experience that simply has no competitor at any price.
Production, Build Times & What They Cost
Embraer delivers approximately 100–120 business jets per year across all series — a production rate that reflects the diversity of its lineup more than any capacity constraint. The Phenom series accounts for the largest share of deliveries by volume, while the Praetor and Legacy series are built in smaller, more deliberate numbers.
Build times for new Embraer business jets typically run 9 to 18 months from contract to delivery — somewhat shorter than Gulfstream and Bombardier for the Phenom series, and comparable for the Praetor and Legacy. The Lineage 1000E, as a full VIP airliner conversion, requires a more bespoke timeline of 18 to 30 months depending on interior specification.
